The Tannery has a range of exciting and unique boutique shops in an amazing Christchurch shopping destination. You’ll be surprised and amazed at the spectacular architecture of the Tannery complex, resurrected from the historic Victorian Tannery buildings now accommodating owner operated and specialist shops you won’t see anywhere else.

The Tannery is the place for individuals to shop, people who love quality, like to make ethical purchases, and want to support crafts and artisans. We have free accessible car parking, all in one convenient historic location by the picturesque Heathcote River.

Atrium is open 10am – 5pm, 7 days a week. Some retailers are open extended hours. Boardwalk retailers are open various hours and not all open 7 days a week. Please check the relevant store pages for details.

Just a short taxi ride from Lyttelton.

Take the 8 bus, and get off at Curries Road, which is just past the Challenge petrol station.  Walk up Curries Road which changes into Tanners Street and the Tannery will be on your right.
