Te Waka Pounamu - Outrigger Canoe Club

Te Waka Pounamu Outrigger Canoe Club (TWP) is one of a number of waka ama (outrigger canoe) clubs based in Ōtautahi / Christchurch and affiliated to Te Waka o Aoraki (South Island Regional Waka Ama Association) and Ngā Kaihoe o Aotearoa (Waka Ama New Zealand). 

Our club caters for all ranges, ages and abilities with youth, open and masters paddlers, social, competitive and educational, and we have a variety of waka including W6 (six person), W3 (triple), W2 (double) and W1 (single) canoes.  

We are also associated with traditional ceremonial and sailing waka use and revitalisation.  We are proudly based at the Naval Point Club, on the edge of Whakaraupō / Lyttelton Harbour.
